Oversized cargo
Route surveys and permits for loads beyond standard dimensions.
A load is oversized once it exceeds the legal limits for the countries it crosses — broadly 2.55 m wide, 4 m high and 40 tonnes gross, though the thresholds differ by country and by road.
What this changes
- Each country on the route issues its own permit, with its own lead time
- The route is planned around bridges, tunnels and overhead lines, so it is rarely the shortest one
- Escort vehicles, and occasionally night-only movement, may be required
What we need to quote
Exact dimensions and weight, the centre of gravity, the lifting points, and whether cranes are available at both ends. Photographs of the item on its previous transport help more than a description.
